All information on this page comes from the Beaver Institute. To learn more about their important work, click here.
Picture
Tree damage? Beavers will inevitably chew trees to utilize the wood for building materials and food. There are techniques that can be used to protect against damage without killing the beaver or damaging the ecosystem they live in.

Picture
Beaver dam flooding? Beavers love water! Unfortunately, sometimes the storage of water in beaver dams can cause flooding to human communities. Learn how to regulate dam water levels and continue downstream flow.
Picture
Blocked culverts and drains? Beavers see culverts and drains as an easy place to build a beaver dam, which can reduce the effectiveness of utilizing this infrastructure. Learn more about cost-effective, nonlethal solutions.

When in doubt, be sure to contact professionals trained in non-lethal techniques. Mistakes or poor construction of non-lethal solutions will NOT prevent beaver activity and will cause frustration with these tools. These techniques only work when properly installed!
